Pots and kettles.

Guantanamo Bay and Extraordinary Rendition amongst other things, make it far more difficult for the West, especially Britain and America to have any moral superiority in the current controversy with Russia over the imprisonment of Mr Alexei Navalny. He was in court yesterday because he had the audacity to criticise the president Mr Putin. There were a number of trumped up charges and he has been sentenced to five years imprisonment. It was a puppet court obeying orders from above. The rule of law in now dead. The clear and unambiguous message from the Kremlin, is don't rock the boat. A climate of fear now pervades Russia. The embryonic democratic process has been murdered, before it was a born. Why is Russia so predisposed to this form of tyrannical authoritarian fascist regime run by gangsters and thugs? Is there something in the water, or is a hang over from Tsarist times? How very depressing for all Russian citizens who seek a better life in their country without state corruption and mendacity.
