A long wait.

After such a long wait - 77 years the thrill of Murray winning yesterday on Centre Court at Wimbledon was exhausting and thrilling, not only for him but for us. I have watched this annual show of disappointment for so many years like the rest of the nation, so yesterday the curse was finally lifted. Can anyone remember the last Brit winning - Fred Perry? This was all before the tumult of WW2. Because the gladiatorial battle is in such a small cockpit, where the world is watching, the emotional turmoil is that much more intense. There were points in the game where I was cursing the television, to little avail. Thank god he won, for him and for all of us.
