Lerwick in the Shetland Isles.

Lerwick that capital of the Shetland Isles are almost 600 miles from London and only just below the Artic Circle. The closest neighbour is Norway. A place that is a must to visit is the delightful eatery Hay's Dock Cafe. The annual even when the town sees its population grow is the Norse heritage celebration Up Helly Aa that takes places in January each year. This part of the UK has been inhabited for over 6,000 years or so. The archipelago has always played an important role and this was the case in the last war. In 1945 Churchill had the Special Operation Executive (SOE) based here to provide knowledge of what was happening in this remote part of the country.
