Are we witnessing the slow dissembling of the UK?
The latest poll by Lord Ashcroft the Conservative peer reveals a striking fact that the SNP will probably win a majority of the seats in Scotland. There has been a move of some 21% from labour to the SNP since the referendum in September. Jim Murphy the new labour leader in Scotland is sayings things that are 'too little too late' to stop the rot. This will place the SNP in an unassailable position vis a vis their role as power brokers in Westminster in May. The general election will produce a cats cradle that is the constitution and it will in my opinion now slowly dissemble. In twenty years from now the constituent parts of the country will all go their separate ways. England will be left to get on with its own history that is long and illustrious, without having to pay attention to its envious siblings in Wales, Scotland and Norther Ireland. I'm reading a 1000 page wonderful history of this noble country by Robert Tombs The English and Their History. The future for us in merry England is indeed very prosperous and happy.
