Punch and Judy politics in the House of Commons today.

I thought that Ed Miliband had the PM on the back foot today in PMQ's. The Office of Budget Responsibility (OBR) have suggest that the percentage of the GDP spent by the state will be similar to that of the 1930's. Labour now have a chink of light where that can exert maximum pressure to gain leverage. This is the fulcrum - the small state will have major repercussions for those in need across the UK. Local authorities that provide social workers will see children become more vulnerable as they are not being supervised properly. Parents that cannot cope will be placed under greater strain. Social care for the elderly and vulnerable will have their budgets cut dramatically. Where will it all end? The rich can cope but those much poorer will struggle. Its Darwinism in practice. Welcome to the brave new world of Conservative Britain.
