The Larbour Party in Scotland.

The Labour Party (LP) in Scotland is in meltdown. The resignation of its leader last week has caused a nightmare scenario for our dear leader Ed Miliband. The referendum in September showed how limited is the depth of support for the LP. Had Gordon Brown not pulled out all the stops it would be good night Vienna to our neighbours north of the boarder. How has the support got into this sorry state? The same malady effects them in England. The problem for Scotland is that its not radical and left wing enough, and the opposite is true for England who want a middle of the road LP not too left wing or too radical. This is the dilemma for the national leader Miliband. He is between a rock and a hard place and has almost no room to manoeuvre. With the election in May he will probably lose some 10 to 15 seats in Scotland thereby making his chances of becoming PM even more remote. A similar problem now confronts DC as his right wing peel off to UKip as he tries to stay in the centre ground. The Rochester by-election will be lost from being a safe Conservative seat to going to Mark Reckless who now stands under the UKip banner. Politics are in the melting pot.
