Is the British state having a nervous breakdown?

As the finishing line comes into view the British state in the form of Cameron, Miliband and Clegg are giving away the state silver ware as if there is no tomorrow. The palace of varieties down in Westminster is showing the stress and strain. No doubt the leaders are waking at 3am in a cold sweat as they contemplate the evisceration of the state. Their jobs are on the line - in days past in would have been their necks on the blocks for treason. I'm sure they are shocked by the disgust and contempt they are held in up north in Scotland. Because they live in the Westminster village that is an incestuous bed of  'you scratch my back I'll  scratch yours' they have been ambushed. There is no cavalry coming to their rescue apart from good old Gordon Brown. Who would have guessed he would be their saviour, especially snooty Cameron from the Bullingdon Club?
This is a touchstone issue as there is such a lack of accountability at Westminster. The expenses scandal is still too close to forget and forgive. Do you remember our 'dear leader' Cameron claiming for the cutting of his wisteria and Douglas Hogg for his 'duck house' and another for cleaning out his moat. You couldn't make it up.
I read in The Daily Telegraph that Billy Bunter Alex Salmond has been caught bullying the principal of that ancient university St Andrews. I must say that doesn't look good at all for the chap in charge of the shop. The strain and stress in showing on him too.
