Hating the Westminster elite is not a good reason to vote 'Yes' next week.

There is a new film called The Riot Club that is a spoof of the notorious club at Oxford called the Bullingdon Club where Cameron, Osborne and Johnston all were members of when at that university. The link is class, wealth and privilege. In this rarefied world they believe that the rules of society don't apply to them, because they are the ones that actually 'make the rules' as they go along. This is the rule of hedonism and excess. The rebellion in Scotland is a visceral hatred of the Conservative, Westminster, Eton, Bullingdon Club, Oxbridge elite who look down on everyone who is not as fortunate as them - however this is not a sufficient reason for voting 'Yes' in next weeks referendum. I know the temptation to give them all a good kicking is pretty overwhelming. However think of the repercussions for you and your family.
I love Scotland my daughter went to Edinburgh University - she is as mentioned before a quarter Scot. We always went out to a delightful bistro restaurant in the city called Petit Paris in the Grassmarket. I still have a business card of the place and sometimes think of popping up there for a meal. I never have from here in Kent some 450 miles or so away. The food in Petit Paris was delightful good wholesome gourmet grub at a fair price. Britain is a mongrel polyglot place a rag-bag of contradictions that makes it what it is. If you scratch it - just below the surface is great pride in our county - all four quarters of it that makes up Britain. Its a place that you just couldn't make up as there are so many internal flaws and problems. New citizens in the ceremony to become a citizen includes swearing an oath to the Queen and to obey the laws of the country - nothing more is asked of you - how liberating is that?
