The freelance American journalist James Foley who worked for Global Post was murdered in Iraq on Wednesday is beyond description in its 'callous brutality'. It was revealed by the US government that an attempt to release him by the elite Special Forces was attempted last month and he was apparently only moved a matter of hours by his captors. These same people were his eventual murders Islamic States (IS). It is now thought that his actual killer was British and very probably from London. This person was known as John and the group were called 'the Beatles' because they were all British. Another member of the group said that he "was a lost sheep in the world". He was shot a few days ago while fighting in Iraq. Professor Peter Neumann of King's College Department of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence has said that many Europeans go to this conflict that originated in Syria and then crossed the boarder into Iraq a matter of about nine months ago. This deadly 'unconscious wish' to create an Islamic State (IS) across the region is what motivates them to be part of something they believe will last 1000 years and will be spoken of for hundreds of years to come in the Muslim world. They believe they will be deified for their collective sacrifice and receive 'immortality in the eyes of many Muslims'. This mistaken belief is driving them with apparent total disregard for humanity. These heinous crimes against their fellow Muslim's and others is clearly crazy and psychotic.
On Channel Four News last night the British Labour MP for Birmingham Perry Bar Khalid Mahmood originally from Pakistan said that the prime minister David Cameron has 'taken his eyes off the ball' over the last three years. He complained that some of his constituents had already gone to Syria to fight and this was not taken seriously by the British government and their security services MI5 and MI6 when he mentioned this to them three years ago. This failure has undoubtedly contributed to the current malaise in this region of international conflict. The terrorist 'chickens may come home to roost'.
