On BBC iPlayer there is a brilliant three part programme about the delights of Paris. Introduced by the inspiring Sandrine Voillet, she is able to tell a good story about her city. Filmed in 2007 - she talks about Paris in a way no Londoner would boast about their city. It would sound absurd and outlandish. I first went to Paris in the Autumn of 1964 and had a girlfriend studying art history at the Sorbonne and we lived in a small flat on Boulevard Saint - Germain. This was such an important point in my life - I was 21 years old. I went back last year in May and enjoyed an hotel in the area of Montparnasse and Le Dome cafe/restaurant. I'm also enjoying the Olympics.
