Culture and the City London.

According to reports in the press today the city fathers want the Square Mile to be a global cultural destination. In order to help the process along they are hoping to entice Sir Simon Rattle one of the foremost conductors and at present at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. His one condition is that it must have a world quality concert hall and auditorium for his music. He would conduct the London Symphony Orchestra. Mark Boleat the chap in charge of the finances is keen to have Rattle here and is prepared to dip into his very deep pockets to do so. If this gets off the ground it will make London and the City and even more desirable place for visitors to come to. We are already a destination of choice for almost all international travelers and have overtaken Paris recently as their first choice. So there are good times ahead for those working and connected to the cultural business across the whole country - not only London town.
