A modern day morality story - the Gunpowder Plot of 5/11.

The plotting of the murder and downfall of King James I was a heinous crime that had at is heart the issues of faith. The King was a protestant the plotters Catholics. The failed attempt to blow up king and government on 5/11 cast a shadow over Catholics for centuries. They were all seen as potential plotters and fifth columnists. They had becomes disillusioned with Queen Elizabeth I and had become more so after the enthronement of the protestant King James I in 1603. Clearly this has resonance today with the rise of radical maniacal Islamic followers who have perverted their faith.
