Are we lost for words when it comes to the overwhelming chaos in the Middle East?
The drum beat of war seems now to be endless in the Middle East. No matter where you turn there is chaos in almost all countries. The plights of the Yazidis is of biblical proportions - with little respite for those stuck up the mountain - apart from some air drops from the UK of water and other essentials. The night time temperatures are near freezing for many its been a 'death zone'. The prime minister in Iraq Mr Maliki appears unable or unwilling to form a government of a 'wider coalition' - or is that his opponents don't want anything to do with him? He is now in a row with the president claiming he has acted in an 'unconstitutional way'. In the mean time there is the advance of the Islamic State (IS) that have overthrown the limited resistance of much the Iraq army. The US is bombing again, but how much help will that be in the 'long term'? Nothing but hatred and menace on every street corner and in each cafe.
