Today Rishi Sunak, will unveil the new NHS staffing plan for the next 5 years. There is a proposal to increase the number of doctors and nurses in the health service. The number of places at medical schools will go up from the current number of 7,500 to 10,000 over this period of time and could reach 15,000 by 2031. There will also be a big increase in the recruitment of nurses to train in the health service. Endlessly depending on immigration to solve the problem, will discontinue. All this sounds very grand and optimistic, but will it happen? It's likely that there will be a Labour government next year and will they go along with this Conservative idea?
