Signs of Spring.

When I worked at The Child Guidance Centre at the The Tavistock Clinic in Hampstead in the early 1970's, I would walk pass a glorious Magnolia Soulangeana perched in a large front garden in Fitzjohns Avenue. It was for me the precursor of Spring, it heralded - good times ahead. However I've noticed that the same type of Magnolia in Kent, where I now live comes into blossoms so much earlier. Is this because of the different micro-climate in Sevenoaks, or is due to the now commonly agreed assumption that global warming being caused by us? Unless of course your a non-believed like Lord Lawson, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer under Mrs Thatcher. Whatever the cause its always a visual delight, and brings a feeling of well being.
