The hegenomic power of the US is broken.
The sun is rising in the west. The G20 summit in St Petersburg a couple of days ago saw for first time in many years a shift in the hegemonic balance of power. The status-quo has changed, we have moved to a multi-polar system. This is an important marker for the future. China will in only a few years time over take the US in the world economy. How will this world look in 10 years? Interestingly yesterday Tokyo was chosen for the 2020 Olympics. This is a metaphor for that change. This in part explains the current soul searching going on in the US about its role in the world, its not the world policeman any longer. The citizens are tired of that role and Obama and future presidents will have to get use to this. The British government will also have to get use to the new world order, the Anglo-Saxon power base has gone. Unless we wake up very quickly and 'smell the coffee' we will be left behind. Hopefully many of the young entrepreneurs in the UK will realise this before its too late.
