5 years on.

It was this weekend five years ago that the financial meltdown really got going with the bankruptcy of Lehman Brother on 15/9/08. We can all remember those pictures of workers taking out their stuff in cardboard boxes. The game was now up, for them and for us. The British chancellor Alistair Darling rejected a request by Hank Polson of the US to bail out Lehman by allowing Barclays to take on the debts. Its been five years of blood sweat and tears, but finally there appears to be 'light at the end of the tunnel' according to boy George Osborne. We shall see whether he has shot Ed Balls fox or not?
