Relatively honest.
David Cameron said yesterday in an interview that he thought the police were - "relatively honest". Who could argue with that? Well the Police Federation have been very upset by the word "relatively". I hope they are not claiming to be absolutely honest! We all know what they have been up to for years. I can say from my own knowledge and experience that they were up to the 'dark arts' back in the 1960's when - I was a copper in Soho. More recent disclosers in the Leveson Inquiry and Plebgate plus a host of other deeds have stretched our credulity to the very limit. The problem is that we need the police to be honest, otherwise it completely undermines our faith in a democratic accountable society. For too long successive home secretaries have been mealy mouthed when it comes to taking on this last bastion of archaic, racist and Masonic privilege. Thankfully the PM is addressing the issue.
