Big brother is already here!

If you ever naively thought that your internet activity was immune from being watched and listen to you were grossly mistaken. The breaking news is that the US government via an internet intelligence collection system called Prism, is alive and well. They are also working with British intelligence and GCHQ. We are all hypocrites when it come to intelligence gathering. When there is an attack we criticise the law enforcement agencies for being 'asleep on the job' but when things are quiet we are very suspicious that they are snooping on innocent individuals like us. We cannot have our 'cake and eat it' on this one. Intelligence for the state is like prostitution an old business. In Tudor England the spymaster in chief for Elizabeth I - was the ruthless Sir Francis Walsingham (1532-1590). However the Obama administration is very embarrassed by these revelations, particularly when he is meeting up with the Chinese president in California and human rights were meant to be top of the agenda. In a very disturbing interview with Edward Snowden the whistle-blower of the leaks - he described the policy of the US government as oppression. America and China have more in common that we think! Its not law but policy and any policy can change. He says "the public needs to decide what is right".
